This Privacy Policy explains how Life Policy Pilot ("we", "us", "our") — the brand under which Richard Parslow, an independent licensed Texas life insurance broker, publishes educational content and offers brokerage services — collects, uses, and protects information when you visit lifeinsurancebrokeradvocate.com (the "Site", also published at life-policy-light.lovable.app) or contact us for life insurance services. The business contact address for privacy questions is listed in Section 13 below.

1. Information We Collect

• Information you provide: name, email, phone, ZIP code, date of birth, health/lifestyle details, and any information you share through our contact forms, email, or phone calls when requesting a quote or consultation.
• Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. This is collected via cookies and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Information

• To respond to inquiries and provide life insurance quotes.
• To submit applications to carriers on your behalf.
• To improve the Site, content, and user experience.
• To comply with legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, measure traffic, and (where permitted) serve advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through our cookie consent banner. You can reopen the banner at any time using the “Manage cookies” link in the footer of every page.

Categories of cookies we use:

• Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie choice). Always on.
• Analytics — helps us understand aggregate usage. Off until you accept.
• Advertising — used by Google AdSense and Meta (Facebook) to serve and measure ads. Off until you accept.

When you use the Coverage Concierge, we save educational questions and checked replies to support follow-up answers. A first-party, HTTP-only chat cookie verifies access to that conversation; it expires after 24 hours and is not an advertising cookie. Follow-up answers use a limited recent history. Blocking or losing this cookie starts a fresh conversation; cookie expiry does not delete saved records. Browser-only guided intake answers are not added to this educational history automatically. Please avoid sharing personal or medical details in educational questions.

4. Google Consent Mode v2 and EEA / UK / Switzerland Visitors

For all visitors we implement Google Consent Mode v2. Advertising and analytics storage default to denied until you grant consent through our banner. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, no advertising or analytics cookies are set and no personal data is shared with Google for ads personalization unless you affirmatively accept. Where consent is refused, Google may still receive limited, non-identifying signals ("cookieless pings") solely for aggregate measurement, with ads_data_redaction enabled.

5. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense and Meta)

We may use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Once you have accepted advertising cookies, the Pixel records the pages you visit on this Site and shares that information with Meta Platforms, Inc. (1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA), which may combine it with information Meta holds about you. We use it to measure how our website performs and, if we later run ads on Facebook or Instagram, to optimize and report on those campaigns. The Pixel is off until you accept advertising cookies, and you can stop it at any time by switching advertising off under “Manage cookies” in the footer.

We have deliberately limited where the Pixel may operate at all. It loads and reports page visits only on an exact list of individually reviewed, general informational pages: the home, About, blog index, author, Services and Tools index pages, the general “How to Choose Life Insurance in Texas” guide, this site's legal and policy pages (Privacy, Terms, Editorial Policy, and Advertising Disclosure), the term, whole life and IUL service pages, the nonmedical planning tools (Term Ladder, Product Navigator, and IBC Lab), and a list of individually reviewed articles whose content does not discuss health conditions or medical underwriting (for example, the articles about annuities, beneficiary rules, business-owner planning, and taxes). It never loads on any article or guide about health conditions, medical history, or underwriting; the health-class calculator; the burial, final expense, seniors, or veterans service pages; the contact form; the practice application; the chat; or any administrative page. If you navigate from one of the allowed pages to any other page, the Pixel is switched off and removed until you return to an allowed page. Where it does operate, Meta's automatic event collection and automatic advanced matching are switched off, so no button clicks, form entries, or contact details are collected automatically, and the page address is stripped down to its basic path so no search terms or link parameters are included. No form submissions, health information, or contact identifiers are ever sent to Meta by this Site. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

6. Analytics

Our calculators (Health Class Predictor, Term Ladder, Product Navigator, IBC Lab) use first-party, cookieless measurement so we can see which inputs confuse visitors and where people abandon a tool. It is off until you switch on “Product analytics” in the consent banner, and it stops the moment you switch it back off.

• What we record: a random per-tab ID stored in session storage (gone when you close the tab), the tool name, the field you interacted with (its control name, not its value), the page path, the referring site’s domain, and whether you are on mobile or desktop.
• What we never record: cookies, names, contact details, calculator input values, health classes, financial results, encoded scenarios, IP-based profiles, full URLs or query strings, full referrer URLs, raw browser user-agent strings, or any identifier that follows you across sites or sessions.
• Retention: tool analytics rows are automatically and permanently deleted 90 days after collection by a scheduled nightly job. They are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to target you.
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, analytics and advertising stay off and the toggles are locked, both in your browser and at our server.

We may also use third-party analytics services where you have consented; these may set their own cookies and collect aggregate usage data.

Calculator inputs, saved scenarios, and links

Calculations run in your browser. Some tools save scenarios in browser storage or encode inputs in the page URL. Encoded data is not encrypted: browser history, a shared link, or a request for that URL can expose the inputs. Avoid entering names or sensitive details into scenarios you intend to share. A contact link may prefill a draft for you to review; submitting that form shares the draft with us. Calculator use does not automatically submit an application to an insurer.

7. Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information with insurance carriers and underwriters only as needed to provide quotes or process applications you have requested, with service providers that support our operations under confidentiality obligations, and as required by law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide services, comply with insurance recordkeeping requirements, and meet legal obligations.

Consent-based tool analytics are an exception with a fixed limit: they are deleted automatically after 90 days. To stop further analytics collection for your current browsing session, switch off “Product analytics” under “Manage cookies” — this deletes the session identifier from your device immediately and stops all further collection.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain data processing or targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, use our contact form.

10. California Residents — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of your personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of third-party advertising cookies (Google AdSense and the Meta Pixel) may qualify as “sharing” under California law.

To opt out, either (a) click Decline in our cookie banner or click “Manage cookies” in the footer, (b) enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out signal, or (c) submit our contact form with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share”. We respond within 15 business days.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
