Why I started Life Policy Pilot
I'm an independent Texas life insurance broker. I started Life Policy Pilot because most of what passes for "insurance advice" online is a thinly-veiled pitch for one carrier's product. I work for the client, not a carrier — there is no quota and no script.
On a typical engagement I'll quote 6–10 A-rated carriers, model two or three structures (single policy vs. laddered terms vs. a small permanent base), and recommend the one with the cleanest underwriting fit and lowest total premium over the planning horizon. I'll tell you when not to buy.
What I write about
The articles on this site cover term laddering, no-exam underwriting, whole life and indexed universal life mechanics, veteran coverage (including VGLI conversion), and business-owner planning — all with Texas-specific statutory, TDI, and IRS citations. Every article carries a "Last updated" date and a visible source list; corrections are made promptly when a reader flags an error.

How I'm paid
The carrier pays me a commission when a policy is placed. The premium is filed with the Texas Department of Insurance — it's the same whether you buy through me, online, or direct from the carrier. I'll share commission structure on request. There is no reader fee, sponsored placement, or paid carrier endorsement anywhere on this site.
What I'm not
I am not a fiduciary. I'm a licensed broker held to Texas suitability standards. I'll tell you the trade-offs honestly; you make the call. Nothing on this site is tax, legal, or investment advice — for those, consult a CPA, attorney, or registered investment adviser.
