Advertising & compensation disclosure

Full transparency on how this site is funded and how those relationships are kept out of editorial decisions.

Carrier commissions

Richard Parslow is a Texas-licensed independent life insurance broker (NPN 20873424, TX License #3076729) and is compensated by standard carrier commissions when a reader chooses to place a policy through this brokerage. Premiums are filed with the Texas Department of Insurance and are identical whether a reader buys direct from the carrier, online, or through Life Policy Pilot.

No carrier owns or employs Richard Parslow. No carrier pays bonuses, marketing fees, or overrides tied to recommending its product over another's on this site. Commission structure is disclosed to any client on request.

Third-party ads

This site may display third-party advertisements, including ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown, we may earn revenue from impressions or clicks. Advertisers have no role in choosing article topics, editing article copy, selecting sources, or recommending carriers. Ad placements are not endorsements of the advertised product.

Ads appear in two forms: (1) in-article display units placed by the site owner between clearly labeled article sections, and (2) Google Auto Ads(anchor and vignette formats) placed automatically by Google based on page layout. Ads only load after you accept cookies through our consent banner; if you decline, no advertising cookies are set and no ads are served.

Third-party ad networks may use cookies to serve personalized ads. You can review and adjust ad-personalization settings at Google's My Ad Center. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and analytics.

Affiliate links and sponsored content

We do not currently run affiliate links in article copy, and we do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, guest posts with paid links, or gifted-content arrangements. If this ever changes, any sponsored or affiliate content will be labeled clearly and this page will be updated the same day.

Reader fees

There is no charge to read this site, to book a consultation, or to receive a written recommendation. Richard Parslow does not accept reader fees, subscription fees, or "planning" fees on top of carrier commissions.

Conflicts of interest

Because commission compensation is itself a potential conflict, we manage it by (1) quoting 6–10 A-rated carriers on every engagement, (2) disclosing trade-offs and total-premium comparisons in writing, (3) recommending against a purchase when a carrier product isn't the right fit, and (4) never charging a reader or client a separate fee that could bias a recommendation.
